Backdrop

本义为剧场悬挂的布景;引申为理解新闻或故事所需的大环境,如经济或政治 “backdrop”。

  1. “The mountains formed a stunning backdrop for the outdoor concert.” (群山为户外音乐会构成了壮丽背景。)
