Cried

(She cried when she heard the news);也可指大声喊叫(He cried for help)或公开主张(cried foul 表示抗议不公)。

  1. “The baby cried all night and kept everyone awake.”
  2. “She cried out his name when she saw him in the crowd.”
  3. “They cried victory as the final whistle blew.”

习语 far cry from(与……

  • 固定搭配: “cried out loud” (大声喊/哭), “cried over” (为……

“When the letter arrived, she cried quietly at the kitchen table, then called her sister to share the news.”
