“Did” 可独立作实义动词 “do” 的过去式，表示完成某项动作。作助动词时，它帮助一般过去时的疑问与否定，也可用于强调（如 “I did tell you” 我确实告诉过你）。
- “They did their homework before dinner.” (他们在晚饭前做完了作业。)
- “Did you see the email I sent yesterday?” (你看到我昨天发的邮件了吗？)

“Do” 源自古英语 “dōn”，意为“做、放置”。“Did” 是其过去式的不规则形式，历史演变中固定下来。

口语里 “didn’t” 极常见；强调用法 “did + 动词原形” 在反驳或澄清误解时很有力。
