Goals

“goals” 常指具体可衡量的目标,也用于体育中的进球;复数强调多项计划或阶段性成果,与单数 “goal” 的用法一致,只是数量或范围更广。

  1. “She wrote down her goals for the new year.” (她把新年的目标写了下来。)
  2. “The team scored two goals in the first half.” (球队上半场进了两个球。)
  3. “Our main goals are quality and customer trust.” (我们的主要目标是质量与客户信任。)

“goal” 源自中世纪英语 gol,可能与古英语 gǣlan(妨碍、围栏)有关,现代义由场地端点的标记引申为“终点”与“目标”。

“goals” 为 goal + 复数后缀 -s,无额外前缀。

职场与个人发展语境中 “set goals / SMART goals” 很常见;足球等运动中 “score goals” 是高频搭配,体现竞技文化。

  • 固定搭配: “long-term goals” (长期目标), “achieve one’s goals” (实现某人的目标)

把 goals 想成球门(goal)的复数:多个球门,对应多个要“射中”的人生靶心。

“He started with small daily goals, and within a year those tiny habits built bigger career goals.” (他从每日小目标做起,一年里这些小习惯堆成了更大的职业目标。)
