Going

“Going” 描述移动、进行或持续趋势(如 prices are going up)。作名词时可表示离开(comings and goings)或事情的进展(the going is tough)。在将来结构 “be going to” 里表示打算或预测。

  1. “They are going to the airport now.” (他们现在正去机场。)
  2. “How is the project going so far?” (项目目前进展如何?)
  3. “It is going to rain according to the forecast.” (据预报快要下雨了。)

“Go” 源自古英语 “gān”,意为“行走、移动”。现在分词 “going” 通过加 “-ing” 构成。

动词 “go” 加后缀 “-ing”:表示进行中的动作或作形容词性用法(a going concern 仍在运转的企业)。

“How’s it going?” 是北美常见的寒暄,相当于“最近怎么样?”;比 “How are you?” 更随意。

  • 固定搭配: “going to” (将要、打算), “keep going” (坚持下去), “going rate” (现行价格)

“go” 加上 “-ing” 就像脚步没停:正在路上、正在进行,就是 going。

“Despite setbacks, the team kept going until they reached the finish line.” (尽管有挫折,队伍坚持前进直到冲过终点。)
