Happens
描述事件出现或时间推进带来的结果；与 to 连用可表达偶然，如 “happens to know”。
- “No one knows what happens next in the story.” (谁也不知道故事接下来会发生什么。)
- “Accidents sometimes happen when people rush.” (人一匆忙，事故有时就会发生。)
- “She happens to speak three languages fluently.” (她碰巧能流利地说三种语言。)
“happen” 源自斯堪的纳维亚语源，与古诺尔斯语 happ（运气、机缘）相关，本义偏“偶然降临”。
happen + -s 为第三人称单数现在时；无透明前缀。
口语安慰语 “These things happen” 淡化意外；科学语境 “what happens when…” 引导实验或推理链条。
- 固定搭配: “as it happens” (碰巧；说来也巧), “happens every day” (天天都会发生)
hap 联想 happy 的“运气”古义：人生就是一连串“降临”的事件。
“If the app crashes, it usually happens right before you save your work.” (应用崩溃往往就发生在你保存的前一刻。)
