Hung
The picture was hung on the wall。当 hang 表示“绞死”时,规范用法是 hanged(He was hanged for treason),但非正式语体中偶见混用,考试与正式写作应区分。
- “The coats were hung neatly by the door.”
- “She hung the fairy lights across the balcony.”
- “The committee hung its decision until next week.”
习语 hung up on(对……耿耿于怀)、well hung(俚语,指身材或俚俗义)需注意语域。
- 固定搭配: “hung up” (挂断电话/耿耿于怀), “hung out” (hang out 的过去式:闲逛), “hung jury” (悬案陪审团——无法达成一致)
“By the time guests arrived, she had already hung the banners and lit the candles in the hall.”
