Players
“Players” 一般指进行比赛或游戏的人，如足球运动员、电竞玩家。在商业语境中，“key players” 表示“关键角色、主要参与方”。与 “play” 的“玩耍、比赛、演奏”义一脉相承。
- “The coach praised the players for their teamwork.” (教练表扬了队员们的团队合作。)
- “This online game has millions of players worldwide.” (这款网游在全球有数百万玩家。)
- “Several major players in the tech industry attended the summit.” (科技行业的几家巨头参加了峰会。)
“Player” 由古英语中与 “plega”（游戏、运动）相关的传统演变而来，现代形式与动词 “play” 直接对应。
“Player” 为 “play” + 施事后缀 “-er”（表示做某事的人），再加复数 “-s” 得到 “players”。
在英美体育文化中，“players” 几乎专指场上队员；观众则常说 “fans” 或 “spectators”。游戏产业兴起后，“players” 也广泛用于电子游戏社群。
