Said

“Said” 最常见是 “say” 的过去式与过去分词,用于转述话语。作形容词时(the said contract)多见于法律或正式文本,指“上述的、所谈及的”。

  1. “He said he would call back later.” (他说过稍后会回电话。)
  2. “It is said that the museum will reopen next month.” (据说博物馆下个月重开。)
  3. “The terms are defined in the said agreement.” (条款在该协议中已有界定。)

“Say” 源自古英语 “secgan”,意为“讲述、说明”。“Said” 是其过去式与过去分词同形的不规则形式。

“Said” 为不规则屈折词,没有可分析词缀。

新闻报道里常用 “said” 引述发言;比 “stated” 更中性。学习者写作时可交替使用 “said”、“told”、“explained” 以避免重复,但口语叙述里 “said” 仍最自然。

  • 固定搭配: “it is said that” (据说), “said to be” (被认为是), “when all is said and done” (说到底)

“said” 发音像“赛的”(轻读),想象比赛结束后有人“说”出结果——话已出口,就是 said。

“The coach said the team needed more discipline and better communication.” (教练说球队需要更有纪律、沟通更好。)
