Scattered

“Scattered” 描述原本可能聚在一起的事物被拆开:雨点是 scattered showers,思绪是 scattered thoughts;也可指人群零星分布在场地各处。

  1. “Scattered leaves covered the sidewalk.” (落叶散落一地,铺满人行道。)
  2. “Reporters asked scattered questions about the leak.” (记者们零星提问泄密事件。)
  3. “The tribe lived in scattered villages along the river.” (部族沿河居住在彼此分散的村落里。)

源自古诺斯语 skatta(挥霍、驱散),与英语 shatter(粉碎)声音意象相近,都含“散开、破裂”之感。

动词 scatter + -ed 构成形容词或过去分词:scattered。

天气预报常用 scattered thunderstorms;心理学语境 scattered attention 描述分心。文学里可营造荒凉或无序氛围。
