Survived

“Survived” 是 survive 的过去式/过去分词,指在事故、疾病、灾难或困难时期后仍然存活,或比他人/他物存续更久(survived the crashsurvived the company layoffs)。

  1. “All passengers survived the emergency landing.” (所有乘客在紧急迫降中幸存。)
  2. “The old oak survived the storm.” (那棵老橡树挺过了风暴。)
  3. “She survived cancer and returned to work.” (她战胜癌症后重返工作岗位。)

来自拉丁语 supervivere(比……活得更久),super-(超过)+ vivere(生活),与 vivid、revive 同源。

“survived” = “survive” + “-d”(以 -e 结尾动词去 e 加 -d)。

灾难报道、医学叙事、商业语境(survived bankruptcy)中常见;survivor 指幸存者。

  • 固定搭配: “survived by” (由……幸存/遗有), “survived the war” (在战争中幸存), “barely survived” (勉强活下来)

sur-(超过)+ vive(活)→ 活得比别人久 → survive/survived。

“The village survived the flood, and many traditions survived with it.” (村庄挺过了洪水,许多传统也一并保留下来。)
