Typically

描述习惯性行为或统计意义上的常态;有时带轻微评价色彩,暗示“果然又是老样子”。

  1. “The store is typically busy on Saturdays.” (这家店周六通常很忙。)
  2. “She typically arrives ten minutes early.” (她一般会早到十分钟。)
  3. “Typically, he forgot his umbrella again.” (果不其然,他又忘了带伞。)

希腊语 typos(印记、模型)→ 拉丁语 typus → 法语 type → 英语 typical。

形容词 typical + 副词后缀 -ly。

学术写作里 “typically ranges from…” 引出常见区间;口语里句首的 Typically… 可传达轻微无奈或讽刺。

  • 固定搭配: “typically takes” (通常需要), “typically found in” (常见于)
  • 形容词: typical;名词: type

typical(典型的)+ ly → 事情按“典型剧本”上演。
