Wanted

  1. “She wanted a quiet corner to read her book.”
  2. “The sign said ‘Waiter wanted’ in bold red letters.”
  3. “He realized he had wanted the wrong things for years.”

西部片海报 “Wanted: dead or alive” 是经典文化符号;日常里 “I wanted to ask” 是礼貌开场。

“The stray dog wanted only water and shade, and the shopkeeper quietly provided both.”
